Surf Breaks waiting for you

  1. "A.C. Sandino" - My opinion: the best wave in Nicaragua! When it’s on, it's a 200 yard left with a sick barrel section on the take off. It's a sand bar that rarely changes. The wave is very fast and can hold a big swell. This is a world class wave.
  2. "Meat Grinders" - Another world class wave you may have seen on the cover of Surfing Magazine. Heavy, hollow take off over a very shallow reef with square barrels. If you make that section it turns into a point that is very fast and rippable- definitely for the advanced surfer. You can get the barrel of your life on this one!
  3. "Osochio" - Heavy peaky beach-break similar to the boom with no crowd. Rights and lefts can be very hollow and will break boards.
  4. "Punta Miramar" - a fun left hand point that can hold basically any swell on the outer reef. When the swell is at just the right angle the wave is a very fast wave on the take off and kind of builds in size as you go down the line, then changes into a shallow slab section to get barreled in. The pics you see that look like G land is the point in front of the house. There were some waves spitting 4 or 5 times down the line. The next day our group rented a boat and scored A.C. Sandinos double overhead firing and nobody else was out.
  5. "Dumps" - one of my favorite waves. It's a short 50 yd wave that barrels perfectly. On a good day basically every wave you see spits no matter the size. It is kind of a roll in takeoff then invites you into a beautiful over-wedged barrel that is easy to make. It is very shallow, but caution, I’ve hit the reef a few times out there and it’s pretty flat with no urchins.
  6. "Pipes" - a fun fast hollow A frame. Very rippable and good for any experience level. Good on a mid size swell. Check the pics out!
  7. "Neckbreakers" - another one of my favorite waves. It's a very fickle estuary that breaks only on the rising tide and correct swell direction. It’s a sand bank the estuary feeds which goes dry at low tide. It’s a short left and even shorter right but breaks in a foot of sand. Like most of the waves here, this one is very hollow, very fast and you need local knowledge. This is a beautiful spot and I have never seen anyone surfing it.
  8. "Shipwrecks" - A wedgy beach break with rights and lefts. Years ago a shipwreck outside the break caused the sets to break outside then come in and reform into perfection when they hit the sand bar. There used to be an estuary mouth there which is closed but the sand stays the same. This spot is very tide dependent and if you’re looking for a rare right hand barrel you might find it here.
  9. "Sebastion" - No, I'm not talking Florida, but the wave is very similar (except nobody’s out!) A tide dependent, over-wedged right that is nothing short of a rippable powerful Sebastion imitation. In a land of lefts you may want to stoke your regular foot friend out one day and have a blast by ourselves. It is another sand- bottomed estuary.
  10. I could keep going with 6 or 7 more spots but they are more mushy. If you're looking for real waves, these are the best. I've surfed 20yrs all over the world and I still pinch myself when it's 200 yd lefts with nobody out. As a matter of fact, at any of these spots I can almost guarantee you and your friends will have the surf to yourself!
